Overall project objective – convert 2 existing retail warehouse units into a new Volvo dealership in Galway conforming to the Volvo Retail Experience (VRE) standard overall and including a workshop and aftersales facility to be Volvo Personal Service (VPS) compliant. At the outset, the units were being used for Used Car Sales.
A new Alucobond rain screen façade was added to the premised in stacked panels to Volvo specification along with a large blue bloc-marque with the Volvo logo. The Volvo letters are 3D built-up illuminated chrome items as are the Dealer name letters.
One unit underwent a full fit-out as a VRE showroom with tiling, suspended ceiling, office divisions, new Reception area, Sales points and Aftersales Reception and support area adjacent to the customer “Living Room” area. A viewing window from the Living Room to the VPS workbays is required.
A new VPS workshop, parts storage, tool room, staff canteen and toilets were created to include tiled workshop floor, ramps and a modular metal backwall to the bays with integrated tool chests.
Work started mid-September 2022 and all main construction, fitout and HEVAC was completed before Christmas; final furniture installation and set up was finalised late December to allow Sales activity from January and Aftersales activity from February.
